Happy Halloween!

Last night we carved our pumpkin! Kayson designed this unique little guy and then we made it come to life. We love how it turned out and love Kayson's creativity. None of the boys were too thrilled about feeling the pumpkin guts, but Kouper did help with the gut removal a little bit. On Saturday night Kayson, Kouper & I went to the local haunted house. Both boys were very brave! Kayson laughed his way through the entire thing and Kouper was only scared a wittle bit, just a wittle.  It was fun and we got snow-cones when we finished, only in Texas! Dada and Kylar stayed home safe and sound with no haunts or zombies. It's been a little bit cooler here during the morning and evening hours, but still warms up during the day. We're looking forward to trick-or-treating tonight and we'll have more photos with the boys costumes.

Wheel barrow Wednesday

These boys could have ridden in there all night! First mommy pushed them around, then dada, then we were both worn out. The little boys loved it! We couldn't seem to go fast enough for them. It is a pretty good workout too, maybe we should do it each night? Nah.

Red Ribbon Week

Last week was Red Ribbon Week at Kouper's School. It is a drug prevention campaign that the schools support. Red Ribbon Week is an annual opportunity for schools to make a visible stand against drugs and to show their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the red ribbon. They make it fun for the kids and each day is a different theme.  The first day was "Sock it to Drugs", next was "Black Out Drugs", then "Put a Cap on Drugs" and finally simply "Wear Red Day".  Koup really enjoyed the themes and participated joyfully each day.

More fun at the Fair

We loved the fair so much that we went back the next day! The boys didn't have school, which made it even better. I was really surprised with Kouper and his no-fear attitude. Last year he wouldn't ride a single ride... but this year any and all please! It was a bit of a bummer for Kylar though, he was too small to ride most of the rides. Kayson went with us and was a huge help with the two little boys. Kylar did get to ride the merry-go-round and the Ferris wheel.  And one thing I realized (once we were at the top of the Ferris wheel) was that I am not a fan of heights! Well at least not a the county fair, on car #13, on Friday, with no seat belt, with two kids 3 and under. However, Kouper and Kylar loved it!

Kayson rode the big super fast ride all by himself and even let go and put his hands in the air with no fear.  We ended the outing with yummy food and then headed home. It was so hot that day (in the 90s) so much for fall weather! (Sorry for the low-res photos, I forgot my camera and had to use my phone.)

Kouper's First Field Trip

Last week Kouper went on his first ever field trip. Riding a bus is nothing new for him, but riding a bus with his whole class is totally new!  The local county fair was the destination and it was a blast! Pamaw (my mom) was able to go with us and of course Kylar went along too. We got to see lots of unique animals that are not the normal farm animals that you usually see at the fair. We're talking ring-tail lemurs, a kangaroo, a zedonk (half zebra, half donkey) turkeys, a white Bengal tiger, a fawn and many more. The only animals that were really eager to eat were the baby goats,  they were so cute! Kouper and Kylar weren't all that keen on feeding the animals, but sure enjoyed seeing them. The kids were also able to sit on a antique tractor and took a tour of all the rides. Next they got to hold (read: torture) baby chicks.

Kouper inadvertently nearly drowned a poor little chick. He said he was trying to help it get a drink or water, and I'm happy to report that after I snapped this photo I rescued the little guy. I'm so glad that it survived!  Those poor little chickies were dropped and squeezed and flipped all around. I sure hope that they get to retire to a nice range-free farm with lots of nice grass and no kiddos....(I know, I know, yeah right).

It was a little warmer than I would have liked, but we had a good time, and went for a Sonic slush when we left, to cool off!

Kylar = 2

It's unbelievable that this little guy is now 2! How can it be? He has grown so much in the last 2 years. He's not much of a talker yet, but he will be in no time, we're sure. He runs, dances, growls, jumps, climbs and does all of things that boys do.  He is is a pretty good eater and loves attention from his family. He likes to grab things (like remotes) and then run and laugh as you try to chase him. He does say a few words: go, no, Dada, Mama, Bubba and sometimes Koko (our dog's name is Kodi and we call her Koko). He can sign "more", "puppy" and "milk", but he is stubborn like his daddy and chooses to instead grunt and point most times. He loves to make crazy faces at random times (mama calls him Billy Idol because of this). He can eat his weight in just about any berry, he especially loves raspberries with a dash of sugar or blueberries with cinnamon and sugar.  When he's hungry he'll either pull out his high chair or grab at the pantry. He makes a strange grunting sound at random times all day long. He is loving stuffed animals and anything that has a handle that he can put over his shoulder (like a purse, much to his dada's dismay).  Kylar's a great sleeper and almost always a very happy little boy. We love you KyKy - Happy Birthday, and here's to 110 more!
