Hook 'Em Horns!

javascript:void(0)
My Texas Longhorns won again this weekend and they're still #1! (That's why daddy and I are smiling so big.) We need to beat Texas Tech this weekend, go horns!
AND our Dallas Cowboys won too (even with Brad Johnson!!). YAY!!

Scoliosis Update...

On Thursday we visited Dr. Stanley. He did an X-ray of my spine, as usual. There are two areas on my spine where I have scoliosis. One is in my neck area which seems to be fine. The other area (which you can see on the photo) is a bit lower. The angle of the curvature is about 34˚. It isn't any worse than the last time I saw Dr. Stanley, which is great. I am, though, for sure going to have to have surgery. It probably won't be until I am 2 years old or so, unless of course it worsens before then. My parents were hoping that I wouldn't have to have surgery at all, but it shouldn't be too bad. Dr. Stanley did surgery on two of mommy and daddy's friends many years ago (Katie and Rene Whitwell) and they loved him. That makes us all feel a little bit better. So for now we will continue to see him every 3 months to monitor everything.

First Ever Haircut!

I know that some of you out there are saying FINALLY! Well me too! My hair was so long it was driving me crazy. Mommy and daddy just didn't want to cut my "precious locks" whatever that means. But enough is enough. We took the plunge on Wednesday on my 11 month birthday. I did pretty well except when Kari brought out the loud clippers. She's a pro and super fast so we made it. Am I even cuter now, or what?

Pumpkin Patch

It definitely doesn't feel like Fall outside, but it's here! So naturally it's time to pick out our pumpkins! Our friends Jay and Lauren were working at the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday so we thought it was the perfect time to go. We found our pumpkins pretty quickly and then we asked Lauren to paint them for us. While she was doing that we had hot dogs and snow-cones! Well I had some of the hot dog bun, but it was great! I did enjoy the empty Doritos bag too! We also took some pictures and checked out all of the crazy pumpkins, squash and gourds. Some of the pumpkins had warts and some were white, it was fun to see all of the different ones. Everyone there was very nice and we had a great time. Kayson even got to ride a wagon around the patch too. I think we're going to have the best lookin' pumpkins on the block! My pumpkin is the little one.
Thank you Lauren! (Sorry we didn't get a picture of you guys!)
You can also see a picture of Kayson with his friend Cameron. Cameron had a birthday party on Saturday and Kayson was so excited to wear his Hawaiian shirt and his sombrero! He's a crazy kid!

It's fair time!

Wednesday Kayson's class went on a field trip to the fair. I couldn't let him have all the fun, so mommy and I tagged along. We got to see all kinds of cool animals. Both of us loved the little chicks. You can see Kayson holding a black one in the picture. I was a little unsure about the animals that got too close to me, but it was fun!

Healing.

I am doing wonderful and healing great! My eye shield cracked and we had a heck of a time trying to find a replacement. We finally called the manufacturer and then my Nana got it all arranged to get me a new one (or three). (Thank you Nana!) So you'll see a few pictures of me with out it (doesn't my eye look great!?!). We are just tickled pink with the results so far. We've come such a long way in just 10 months! Here is a picture of my tooshy where the fat was taken from. It's healing nicely, but isn't it big? I don't ever complain about it at all. My mommy said that she would if it were her booty, but I am a tough cookie.
