Wordless Wednesday

Extreme Makeover, Blog edition!

Okay guys so what do you think of my new blog design?! I love it! My friend Jessica over at This That and Your Blog did it just for me! I feel so special! But, never fear she can do one for you too! She is really super great to work with (didn't mind when my mama asked a gazillion questions) and her prices are way beyond reasonable! And get this, she taught herself how to do it! Amazing, huh? She is a really cool college student who goes to our church and runs the youth program at the church on Wednesday evenings where my brother Kayson goes, it's called Kids of the Kingdom. You can read all about her adventures on her personal blog at This That and My Blog. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jessica!! You rock!

All is well!

I am at home now and everything went well. The anesthesiologists were super nice and treated me as if I was their own child. A nice nurse even brought me a cute stuffed, super soft puppy dog to hold. I got to wear the usual purple hospital gown which is becoming more embarrassing as I get older, but at least it fits me a little better now! Dr. Fry found an infection in my eye socket, so I'll have to have medication for that, but it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Unfortunately, the conformer wouldn't quite fit, it was a bit too large. But after the surgery we went to Mr. Wenske's office and he was able to size it down and get it in with no problem at all. (Have I told you guys that he is the greatest!?!) The concern at this point is that my socket isn't expanding outward to the side like everyone had hoped. Don't get me wrong, we've come a LONG LONG way, but we need to get my bone expanded before I grow too big. There are a few options that could be the next plan of action, all require more surgery. One of the options is to put a silicon pouch in my eye and gradually add liquid to expand it. That's the only one I really remember, but I'll fill you guys in when I learn more. We'll meet with Dr. Fry in a few weeks to figure out what to do next. My mom forgot her camera so we've got no pictures, can you believe that? We were all very pooped this afternoon so we've been napping the afternoon away. My daddy isn't feeling well, and mom's just tired because we got up at 4:30 a.m.! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Tomorrow is the day...

Tomorrow morning I'll be back at University for surgery # 5 I think!? I will be getting a larger conformer. Dr. Fry will also check out the inside of my eye to make sure there are no strange things growing in there. If there is something she will remove it and also check on the progress of my expansion. I'm not too worried about it, but mom and dad always get a little nervous when they have to hand me over to the anesthesiologists. I'll be fine and I'll let you guys know how it went when I'm all done. If you can please say a little prayer for me. Thank you!

Fun!

Daddy and I had a blast the other day. He was pushing me all over the house while I rode my little school bus!

Doctors!

On Thursday I had two appointments in SA. The first was with my nephrologist. She reviewed my renal scan and said that my solitary kidney was functioning great. She tried to take my blood pressure as you can see above, but I was so not having it! She is a bit concerned that I haven't grown in quite a while. She wants me to follow up with a couple of other doctors to check things out. So we'll see how that goes. Next I was off to see Mr. Wenske. I am getting a new larger conformer on March 10 when I'll be put under anesthesia. Mr. Wenske needed to take out my current conformer to make a mold of it so he can make my new one. Daddy, mommy, Connie and Mr. Wenske all had to hold me down to get it out and when it was out this is what my hair looked like! Pretty crazy huh? The great news is that he put my conformer back in my eye on his first try! We were all so thrilled!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Ash Wednesday was my daddy's birthday. My great grandma and great popo brought daddy this super yummy strawberry pie/cake. My great popo also lifted me up to touch the fan lots of times and it was a lot of fun! My papa and nana took us out to dinner for Daddy's birthday too! I was a little fussy, but it's just because I was tired. I like the sweet potato fries though! My mom forgot her camera that night, that's why there's no pictures. We went to Johnny's BBQ and it was certainly a hot spot! There were a ton of people there and they all thought I was a cutie pie.

I'm too sexy (ahem cute) for my jammies!

This is usually how my mommy or daddy find me in the mornings!
